The simple way for Federal Government buyers to buy over the Internet in compliance with GSA contract rules.
TapeOnline makes purchasing by GSA customers fast and easy. GSA (General Services Administration) customers can place orders on-line at specified GSA prices and in accordance with the rules and regulations of national GSA contracts. We offer GSA pricing on our website and at www.gsaadvantage.gov . In the search field, enter in "TapeOnline" or our contract number "GS-02F-0064T" and all TapeOnline's items are listed.
In addition, a number of our vendors like Sony, Maxell, and Rimage have GSA contracts in place covering blank videotape, audio tape, data backup tape and other types of recording media.
Once you've setup your GSA account, the buying process is the same easy process that all customers use. Behind the scenes, however, the business logic of the TapeOnline system ensures compliance with GSA guidelines and specific contract provisions of individual vendors.
If you are eligible to purchase under GSA contracts, go to our New Account Setup page and be sure to check "GSA Status" box. If you are uncertain, please review the information below.
What is a GSA Account?
GSA is the General Services Administration of the Federal Government. A vendor wishing to do business with the Federal Government may negotiate a blanket contract for the purchase of the vendor's products. This contract allows all Federal departments and other specified agencies to purchase at the same price and under the same set of rules. No further price haggling or contract negotiation is required.
Unfortunately for many Government employees, purchasing off of GSA contracts can be a frustrating experience. Often, customers don't even know that a contract exists to cover their purchase. If they do know, pricing is often incorrect and contract terms aren't adhered to because the dealer doesn't understand the system.
Fortunately, we've automated the process at TapeOnline. Our sophisticated e-commerce system eliminates most of the paperwork and compliance burden with the following benefits:
Sounds simple, but usually isn't. TapeOnline gives GSA customers GSA prices—online. There is no need to call and ask what the correct price is or, worse, buy at the standard price and wait for a correction to be issued.
GSA "Smart Pay" Credit Cards
TapeOnline accepts GSA Smart Pay MasterCard and Visa credit cards reducing a great deal of paperwork.
Audit Trail / Order History
TapeOnline keeps a running order history for all customers. Should you require an old receipt, just logon and click "Order History" to see a record of all purchases.
TapeOnline makes it easy for customers to participate in many of the promotional programs of our vendors should government regulations allow. Sony's Rewarding Recording program is a perfect example. Our system automatically tracks points earned by our customers and electronically reports them to Sony, eliminating any paperwork on the customer's part.
Federal Government agencies and departments are eligible. Prime contractors to the Federal Government and certain quasi governmental organizations may be authorized for GSA purchases, but they must provide documentation to verify their eligibility. Tape Online will verify that any customer purchasing on a GSA schedule is GSA authorized.
NOTE: State and local governments are not eligible for purchasing under GSA (Federal government) contracts. However, we welcome the opportunity to discuss customized purchasing arrangements with any state and local government authorities.
