The Ninja, from Atomos, eliminates the need for time-consuming format conversions and transcoding. The Ninja encodes your uncompressed camera footage to Apple ProRes, so you are ready to edit instantly!

Low-Cost Storage Solution

With the Ninja, there is no need for costly flash media storage. You record directly to a 2.5" HDD or SSD, which allows you exponentially more storage capacity for a fraction of the equivalent cost in flash media. A 750GB 2.5" drive holds up to 16 hours of Apple ProRes footage, and can cost less than $100.

4.3" Touchscreen

The touch interface is quick and responsive. Access all of the Ninja's main functions via the large, colorful menu icons. The screen also displays your current video input format, remaining battery life, and remaining recording time. The Ninja also allows you to change the headphone line out volume directly from the touchscreen.

Hot-Swappable Batteries

The Ninja comes with 2 batteries. Combined, they can provide up to 9 hours of battery life when fully charged, depending on the codec and screen use. The Ninja has 2 battery compartments, but only uses one at a time. When one battery runs out of life, the Ninja automatically switches to the other, without hindering production. A battery charger is also included.

Give New Use to your Old Camera

As long as your camera has an HDMI connection (exceptions are listed on the Atomos website), you can use the Ninja to enable file based production on your older camera! You may even see better results than when it was new.
