Description
Maxell 64 Minute DVCPro HD Videotape: DVPHD-64EL
Maxell has developed their DVCPro HD tapes to be extremely stable for use in High Definition television environments. Using their knowledge of HD technology acquired when creating D-5 and HDCAM videotape, Maxell made a highly reliable DVCPro HD tape with advanced features.
Each Maxell red lid DVCPro HD tape features a high precision cassette shell to make recording in extreme environments possible as well as keep the tape working properly. The Ceramic Armor Metal Tape technology employed by Maxell uses a specialized calendering technology. Using that technology allows the 64EL tape to offer high levels of output, low noise, and low error rates. And, with an optimum level of smoothness, the C/N ratio is increased too.
Maxell DVCPro tapes were made for long-term storage. The Ceramic Armor Metal Particles and durable binder system keep the tape stable even in extreme environments. The 64EL is resistant to heat and oxidation and will prove reliable, durable, and perfect for archiving.
*High Definition LP Mode
DVCPRO equipment that is capable of recording in DVCPRO HD-LP mode (a.k.a EX format) utilizes a more precise record head that has the ability to record a track pitch that is only 9-microns wide. That is half as wide as the conventional DVCPRO record heads, which is 18-microns. Therefore, when using the DVCPRO HD-LP mode it is possible to double the record time without any loss of quality.
As of now, the only DVCPRO equipment that is capable of recording in the 9-micron mode are: AJ-HD1700, AJ-HD1200, and AJ-HD1400 decks as well as the new AJ-HDX-900 camera.
