VXA

VXA tape, often compared to 8mm, DDS, and AIT, is a data backup tape. The Travan data format is considered "packet" technology as opposed to "linear" technology. So, instead of writing data in continuous, predefined linear tracks, data is written in addressable packets along the tape. This enforces greater reliability and less error in the tapes.
